Also, there's no way in hell unreal engine is gonna be banned from games in the app stores. Unreal engine and unity are like, 90% of all games.

Still, epic have been some uppity fucks for a while now, especially since getting that Chinese money.

I was very confused by this topic. All I could think of was Epic the healthcare IT company >_>

I don't, i think Fortnite is fucking trash anyway. Thanks to it, every fucking FPS game has a battle royal mode.

Pretty sure Epic is in breach of contract anyway.

It's not that the Unreal engine will be banned from the store. But good luck getting Epic to support Unreal Engine on mobile platforms if their employees are banned. This will impact future games if it sticks.

I don't have an issue with Epic's points. They're all pretty understandable. Apple and Google's control over the marketplace and app developers is really sketchy. I don't think they'll get anywhere though.

I don't think Epic should try cutting out the middle man then get upset when it doesn't work as planned.

The mobile game market is already flooded with cash grab, experimental trash and opening it up even more like this would only motivate devs to move to Google Play/App Store full time

They weren't upset. They knew it would happen. That's why their had their Fortnite memes ready to go. They're using it as an example (one of many) in their anti-trust suit against Apple.

It would be interesting to see how Epic handles the Unreal Engine. Didn't think of that at all.

Epic tried to sidestep Apple and Google's terms of use.

Everyone is doing shady stuff but Epic agreed to the contract and broke it knowingly.

There is no "good guy" in this.

i still dont get whats with the deal with the Epic hate.

from what i have seen its just another game client. lol wtf. and it looks like they are giving out decent games for free. the way i see it, its about time steam had some competition. i rememebered the days you could get the blockbuster games for like $5. doesnt seem to happen anymore. guessing cos steam knows they basically havea monopoly on this shit and dont need to price games cheap anymore

I agree with what Jim Sterling said about it: Fuck all of them.

Epic is right that taking 30% of the revenue for literally nothing but putting their app on their storefront is pretty excessive, but the way they're going about protesting it and painting Apple and Google as being bad guys for enforcing their shitty rules is rather shitty too.

Apple, sure. But Google is notorious about letting just about anything on the play store lol.
