Realistically speaking, conservatives are the types to sit back and not say anything because they mostly don't care enough to do anything and will speak their opinion on Facebook or at family dinners. Liberals are the most vocal and America just needs a leader who will represent them.

Cant really argue with that. I wouldnt say its completely Trumps fault, where were at now, because these things were always right below the surface, but hes certainly provided all the necessary fuel to ensure that this fire keeps raging out of control for decades to come, and hes escalated things way beyond where they were just four years ago.

Trump has said and done a lot of stupid shit over his presidency, but he was right about one thing: We need to actually drain the swamp that is our government. There is too much muck, too much bile, too much refuse for anything to ever be accomplished here. We need to remove all of that, and let the streams run clean again. The dead lawn that we face can be green and growing once more. It's not beyond saving, it just feels hopeless because the people with the power to change it don't want it to change.

It really is. People are probably more divided than they've ever been, and a lot of them are growing very angry; it will definitely boil over at one point or another. What will the results be? Who knows.

Realistically, I see less of a civil war, and more of a dissolving of the nation, to where each state becomes its own country, with some states banding together to form their own countries too.

If we're being honest, most of the giant "anchor states" will likely form nations with their like minded neighbors, and everyone else will just become their own thing. I see a bunch of California neighbors becoming part of Cali, a bunch of Texas neighbors becoming part of Texas, a bunch of new York neighbors becoming some new England nation, and so on.

Only basing that on the fact that bills passed by the House will at the very least actually be brought to a vote in the Senate. As we are now, Bitch McConnell refuses to even vote on anything the House has passed in over a year that wasn't the stimulus bills. That shit is just going to continue.

Senators/congressmen DESPERATELY need to have term limits; it would stop people like Mconnell from continually keeping the Senate/house in a state of gridlock. We are so close to a "Battle of Portland" or similar city that draws the state to apply force, which will actually make things worse.

but electing biden and a democratic congress can create a stable foundation to build off of. IIRC some Democrats have said the first thing they'd pass would be voting rights reforms and election security laws which is gonna help quite a bit.

gonna be decades to work at getting this mess fixed up though

Democrats have happily contributed to the surveillance police state we have currently have today.

They're also no strangers to violating black peoples civil rights or putting them in prison in mass numbers.

Many of the powers Trump wields today with his use of federal law enforcement and the military were powers that Obama signed into law.

Biden brags about writing the 94 Crime bill that helped take away more black men's freedom than any time since slavery in combination with the War on Drugs.

Kamala Harris is the self-proclaimed "top cop" and put tons of people in jail for bullshit. She tried to deny evidence that would have freed thousands convicted in drug cases with compromised evidence. She even tried to block the exoneration of a man who was wrongfully on death row.

Facts and history speak for themselves.

You say those issues will fix things... well, perhaps that is what liberals think. Conservatives have different issues they believe will correct our problems.

I'm looking at how conservatives have conducted themselves over the last 4 years and thinking if there is going to be recovery and rebuilding that they will not be involved.

The right has lost its mind and the country is largely ungovernable because of their behavior. The solution there is to completely squeeze them out of the process altogether.

Smothering the modern conservative movement will do a lot to heal the US.
