CK3 is going to be so much easier @El_Lingo Everything is so much cleaner and the info it gives you is MUCH better. Also, you can see a lot of the stuff on the same screen now. Unlike in CK2 where you had to close and open up windows, everything will be just right there.

Remember, you can always get a refund on Steam if you don't play for too long. There are LPs up right now that you can check out and will show you much much easier it is now

The person who wrote the IGN review is pretty well known inside the community for writing up humorous patch notes when patches come out, and she's put thousands of hours into CK2. So yeah, at least in that case.

Oh, no. It's just that all the info is much, MUCH better and easier to find. Like, if you hover over something it gives you everything you need to know. And then you can make it a sticky so it never goes away until you either close it or minimize it along with the rest of the stuff you want to remember.

For example -


You can hover over "Just" and see everything, but then you can also hover over "Arbitrary" and see what that means. It's like this with the people as well. No more opening and closing windows or searching for terms. Everything is much easier to find and understand.

CKII isn't that difficult to get into. You learn as you go. The only downside is the menus do indeed suck. EU4 is a lot harder to get into.

It's really not that complicated. Just react to what happens. My biggest issue when I first got into it was how to inherit land, get claims, ect, but all of that is much easier to learn in CK3 since all the info you need you can just get by hovering over it instead of having to try and find it

Watch the video I posted and you tell me, lol. Its real time, I guess, as in the game goes and goes until you pause it. But its not like Age Of Empires. You play as a family, and you deal with what comes. Its a story game that is never the same story

No its not an RTS like Star Craft or anything. These types of games are usually called Grand Strategy games.

That will help you out if you watch it while you play the tutorial. He's played like 75 hours so far, so while he plays it for the new fans, he explains a bit more about what is going on. Very helpful

And again, I can't stress this enough, don't think too much about it. It may seem like a lot, but it pretty much breaks down to - Make a choice when shit happens. Other than that, the best way to expand your land is to just send someone to go Fabricate a claim, and once they do, you have a right to that land you can now go and kill it.

Also, if you wife has any claims to any land, you can go and try to take them as well.

It's interesting that this game is getting so much hype. Not really the sort of game that normally gets hyped. I played around with the second one when that GoT mod first came out for it when GoT was at its peak. Good times. Never actually really played the base game much though.

CE is pretty small, and a few of us fans of CK2 have talked about it a lot, which got more people into the series.

But I think there is a lot of hype outside of Gamefaqs as well, right? Maybe because of the A Song Of Ice and Fire mod?

paradox has been a terrible developer the past two years. eu4 is fucked with gamebreaking bugs not fixed months on end. hoi 4 is mediocre. stellaris unplayable in late game. imperator rome is a joke spreadsheet simulator with no soul.

waiting for the honeymoon period of ck3 to die down. see how it goes a week from now.

That's how I felt when Total Extreme Wrestling 2020 came out. It was the first time I had played a game in the series from the start and there were no Real World mods out to use, so I was using the C-Verse for the first time. I did have a lot of fun - I just made my own promotion and used people on CE as my wrestlers.

I'm just jumping in without even doing the tutorial, lol. I have little experience with Paradox games but the game kinda runs itself so you can easily learn as you go.

I'm playing as a petty King with one heir and no wife. In the first few weeks I've already successfully invaded a neighbor and took his wife and son captive after winning a siege.

Making your own faith is expensive, lol
