The voting rights act has long established that having to pay fees in order to vote is unconstitutional. Some documents I wouldn't have had if my mother didn't save them for me lol so there's definitely more to getting an ID than just paying a small fee that would prevent people from obtaining one and I doubt that will ever change. Especially because they're moving in the complete opposite direction with requirements. On the plus side your ID is also good for 10 years.
