I'm really looking forward to Pikmin 3 Deluxe, but I would certainly have rather had Pikmin 4.

Also, most serious gamers have spent plenty of time with Super Mario 64, Sunshine, and Galaxy 1. And the rereleases have barely even improved the graphics.

They require less money and tine to produce, and in the case of Wii U titles they basically are new games for most Switch owners.

Have you not been paying attention to the amount of games that have been ported to Switch

this. wiiu sold like 13 million worldwide, whereas switch is up to 62 million. there's tons of people that missed out on the wiiu library.

The Pikmin and 3D world rereleases are mostly because Wii Us sold so badly. The efforts to put Wii U games on Switch are mostly because only a few million people bought Wii Us. I think it's a good idea although I agree that $60 is too much for these rereleases even with the new content.

The 3D collection is a different thing IMO. Yes most serious gamers have played those games already, but not for a long time. Galaxy 1 came out 13 years ago, Sunshine came out 18 years ago, and 64 came out 24 years ago with a remake that came out 16 years ago.

So it makes sense to put them out again, and if you're gonna put them out again it's nice that they're in HD and 16:9 now. Also, Sunshine and Galaxy couldn't just be ported, they'd need some handiwork.

That said I would still prefer an extensive virtual console over what they do now, choosing a handful of games to rerelease. Also I don't like that they are ignoring SMG 2

They can put in minimal effort and sell 25 year old games for $60.
