Giant_Aspirin 09/30/20 4:11:03 PM #3:	AiC is a band where i liked their singles but never really dove into their catalogue back in the day. the last couple of years i've gotten more into them and they're now my 2nd favorite grunge band after Nirvana. SMAP- 09/30/20 4:13:05 PM #4:	The only big 4 grunge band Im really much into is Nirvana, but I can definitely get down with a few songs from Pearl Jams first 2 albums, and then most of Vitalogy is really cool. alice in chains arent bad and have a few songs I can enjoy but theyre kinda tedious to me, too much doom and gloom, without much else to really stand out from that, and I feel like the wave of awful post grunge bands modeled their sound off of them more than any of the other grunge bands, especially with the metallic edge --- sigless user <cite>SMAP- posted [p:945280117] in How do you... tommybel89 09/30/20 4:21:40 PM #5:	2 great bands. But for me as time has gone on, I love Alice in Chains the same or more, whereas Pearl Jam has declined a bit in my book. But make no mistake, they're amazing live. I just don't think the post 2000 material resonates as much as the stuff from 1991 to 1998 (Ten to Yield). Both (as well as Nirvana) gave birth to a lot of horses* though, which is too bad. Soundgarden seems less replicated IMO. And then some of that crap gets attributed to the Seattle bands unfairly. But you toss on the Dirt album or Facelift to this day, there are some riffs and grooves that have not been matched ever.
