I suppose there are a few different types. The general lifestyle magazines; the softcore porn magazines, with topless and nudes pictures, commonly refferred to as lad's mags; fashion magazines; LGBT magazines; other stuff as well.
When I was in my teens and early twenties, I read FHM and Maxim, which I would say are basically general lifestyle magazines aimed at men. Are magazines really considered that irrelevant, then? You still see them on the shelves of newsagents, so somebody must be buying them. Newspapers are still very popular, too.
