You have to limit your own level. Put a dummy pokemon in your party with the exp share, but you're not allowed to use it in battle. This cuts your exp gain in half.
You'd need to limit grinding too. Perhaps no KOing any wild pokemon --- My sister's dog bit a hole in my Super Mario Land cartridge. It still works though - Skye Reynolds 3DS FC: 3239-5612-0115 ... Copied to Clipboard!

Close your eyes before every battle and keep them closed. You only can go off memory of your moves and sound cues about what is happening.
