In terms of old trees, there's one I want to visit one day on an island off the coast of Japan. It's like a 6 hour flight from Tokyo and the tree itself is a half-day hike to get to, but it's one of the oldest trees in the world and the forest it's in was the inspiration for Princess Mononoke

IIRC the longest lived non clonal tree only gets to be about 5000 years old. It seems weird to me to think that they even have lifespans at all.
