there are many criticism towards the game in which some i agree and i might be bored later but so far i'm having quite a blast probably because i really haven't played this kind of huge budget games like in years, the thing that just turn off your brain and go pew pew and it's fun.
dialogue is well-written, i like the characters and the atmosphere is absolutely spot on for a post-western setting.

This is one of those games I would like to rent or something, as I want to see what's it's about.
But I doubt I would ever finish it....as I basically never do in games like this.

I really enjoyed it, but the movements were annoyingly slow and everything seemed to require more button pressing than necessary. Great game to just chill and do whatever tho

One of the most satisfying things was manually cocking the guns after firing during gunfights. I thought it would be super annoying, but it was a great addition imo.

it's the hateful eight of video games. You have to be in the mood for it IMO. But yeah, they nailed the feeling of a western perfectly. Really want to replay it on PS5

I don't get the "turn your brain off" bit, unless you just mean exclusively during gunfights. Because you're missing out on a lot if you're not alert in that game. There's a lot to pay attention to. I liked it because of the opposite reason. It made me not be able to just sit back and dumb out, cause I always wanted to look for little things to catch my eye and lead me off the beaten path. Which this game mastered that. There's so much stuff to catch your eye when you're paying attention. But if you miss it, it doesn't hurt a less in depth playthrough. So I guess either way is set up well.

Yeah, gunfights are excessively simple, especially with limited arsenal (no automatic weapons, etc) but other aspects of the game are fun. I probably won't do all the chores like hunting challenges, but both major activities and missions are fun and there are a lot to take inside and enjoy in the world. The detail is crazy. I understand why people dislike some of the "excessive" attention to detail, but i enjoy slow games like this.
