Anyone ever notice that?

Whenever the man is a main character and he has a kid, the kid is usually a daughter. It seems them having sons isn't as common.

Daughters are perceived as needing protecting by father figures, which leaves room for more character development or story telling.

That's my perception on why that is at least. Not that I agree with it.
