Convince me more what the gameplay actually is and its replay value.

The gameplay is space exploration in a first-person view. You begin on a planet, go through a short tutorial, collect your spaceship, and explore the solar system. The solar system is small, but each celestial body has a considerable amount of points of interest.

The game is very attentive to physics, both when in your spaceship and when not in it. Gravity and mass are in play and will have an affect on things.

Early on the game gives you questions to answer, but you can tackle them in any order and at your own pace. There are a lot of mysteries to solve.

Replay value is low as once those mysteries are solved, they obviously won't hit the same way.

I could be wrong or whatever, but this sounds like No Man's Sky which is supposedly a much larger game now?

It has very little replay value but that's kinda beside the point, it's a really great experience the whole way through as you piece together the plot, backstory, and even the goal of the game just by exploring the world. Like, it literally just starts out as "here's a spaceship, go explore planets I guess" and then you just kinda pick one at random and get lost for a while but you eventually learn more and can look around more meaningfully. I've never played a game that nails the feeling of exploring the unknown nearly as well as it does.

I've heard someone kinda describe it as a metroidvania but with information instead of items which sounds silly but is also sort of true

Missed opportunity for VR. Then again, if it's like No Man's Sky, not even VR can save it.

Most disappointingly empty game I have ever played. Bethesda is a joke of it's former self.

I don't want to tell you how to spend your money, but the game plays and looks like it should be on the PS3/360.

It's actually sort of hilarious how little replay value there is. You could compare it to a Metroidvania where instead of getting upgrades to progress you learn about game mechanics and important locations. Hypothetically if you had enough information there's technically nothing stopping you from beating the game on the first cycle.
