If so, what religion? If you stopped being religious, why? Also, did you start off atheist, and become religious?

How often do you go to church, FortuneCookie? Have you read the whole Bible? What do you do when atheists on CE laugh at you?

No, I am not religious currently, but I was raised as a Christian. I liked some of the stories and it was easier to go along with what was expected, considering every person I knew was part of the religion too. But I remember being around six years old and already thinking theres no way this story about Noahs Ark could be true, for example.

No because its not really accepted to believe in religion itself like that when you practice Christianity

Religion is a generic, man-made term that serves only to describe things via Mariam Webster

Im lucky in that despite both of my parents being Catholic, they didnt expose me to religion because they wanted me to have the freedom to make my own choice. As a kid, I always found Christianity silly, but everyone around me believed in it and gods seemed like the most convenient answer to a lot of big questions so I was a deist up until halfway through my teenage years. Around then I did some more introspection and realized my belief in a god was just wishful thinking rather than something with any evidence, so I dropped it altogether. Now I identify as an agnostic atheist.

Used to be. Im still the slightest bit agnostic, and like to dabble in religious themes from time to time when I write though.

Raised baptist by my grandparents & didnt mind. Went to a catholic church for some form of peace when I was crashing on couches for 4 months.

Met some damned nice people, but am I religious? Hard to say, honestly. Im not going around bible thumping and screaming that people are going to burn in hell if they do this and that, cause Id be a massive hypocrite.

I have some kind of thought that could be considered misguided, but I believe no one book has the answer of being a better person of some sorts, but damn, casually studying world religions is quite interesting.

A moderately long winded answer & Im sorry about that. Spiritual & I believe in the big fella upstairs, but i also believe in science and philosophy.

So yeah, once again: sorry about the long winded answer & Im willing to answer questions if you have any.

I am a flexible gnostic. I am pretty certain Jesus was a mystical being in some sense (alien, god, or meditated and unlocked his power) just from some unbelievable moments in my life. But the god in the Bible is pretty clearly materialistic, jealous, and evil. The gnostic gospels are gospels the churches wanted to hide that detail Jesus telling his followers these things and essentially him telling people Im not here to save you, youve got to save yourself because the dmt trip at the end of our lives might be a bit gnarly if we dont. Gnostic Jesus and Buddha are pretty much saying the exact same things: this world is dead and not the reality of life. Just my own experiences with many different psychedelics, people, and mystical experiences really drive that home to me
