I mean, you're just getting used to electricity in the home and the local newspaper says there's tension in Europe...

But what about your day-to-day slice of life kinda stuff?

Novody raises an eye when a 26 year old fornicates a 14 year old .

Cowboys and the ponderosa where still a thing as the frontier was over by 1920

Immigrants died at higher rates than native white americans in construction jobs.

So yeah country life was basically a cross between "ballad of little joe" and lttle house on the prairie except stinkier as woman only washed the couchie in the creek every second sunday

Ligation of blood vessels still hadn't fully taken of so surgeries were still deadly (only started ain 1890) but atleast now the doctors would take the meat of the last patient and clean it.

Woman could be institutionalized for everything from complaining to much or gasp claiming a man took advantage of her that was of an upper class. Psyciatry was gonna hit near nazi levels of dark and inhuman treatment

Speaking of in 1919 an you upstart named Adolph Hitler was picking up ground. He uses the established boyscouts to create Hitlers youth program

I just Googled what 1910's everyday life was like for folks.

An article I found was a nice read, and interesting - I mean I've always had a vague assumption of what life was like back then but I'd never truly pondered it.

Everything was still black & white then. Color wasn't invented until many years later >_>

Well, print was a much bigger deal. And there was always a war going on somewhere, so headlines wouldn't always be alarming.

Otherwise it really depended on where you are. There are parts of the world where like in 1910 is basically the same as it is today.

Sure they did -Fatty Arbuckle , Charlie Chaplin , and numerous black men who looked at a white woman the wrong way tell a different story.

That didn't have its origins until 1922.

In 1910 there was no wrong way to look at a woman

Outhouses in city dwellings were still a common thing as indoor plumbing is not widespread yet. My great- grandmother still used one in 1972 as she lived across the street from the mall in Anderson, In.

My house , which was built in 1916 , didn't originally have a bathroom and I still have the well right out my back door.

Refrigerators used blocks of ice keep cool as widespread electric refrigeration is still 2 decades away.

Boyscouts started feb 8 1910
Hitler started his ris in ranks in july of 1919 when he was appointed verbindungsmann of the reichswehr, in september he was groomed by anton dexler and given the building blocks of his his rule in the form of the book "my political awakening".

soyeah it started a little earlier than 22. The 1910s were crappy and lead to even crappier 1920s-40s. Hopefully it doesn take us another 20 years and a massive war to break out of a slump that we rang in with the covid
