Those have been around for a long time, if you mean the ones where the youtuber is pitching the product.
I just skip ahead to find the end of it. Some of them I actually watch b/c the youtuber makes it funny/entertaining.

I just recently started using YouTube a lot so I've encountered it a lot more.

They used to take up much less time. Netflix used to advertise this way, before they became really big.

Nowadays the sponsored ads take about 2 minutes on a 10 minute video.

Most the YouTubers I watch have subtle visual differences between the ad and the main content of the video, so it makes it easier to skip their Raid: Shadow Legends or Raycon earbud pitch. Not every YouTuber does this though, unfortunately.

I will never buy Raycon lmao too many ads

It's more that it's a major way most of those YouTubers can keep producing content. Which you presumably want if you're watching their content in the first place.

When YouTube puts ads in a video, they keep most of the money and throw pennies at the content creator. When a content creator does in-video ads or shills their Patreon, they're getting way more money from every ad, which in turn makes it more viable for them to treat content creation like an actual job, which in turn leads to better content.

You may have seen it becoming more common or intrusive lately because YouTube keeps finding new ways to screw over content creators and take money away from them, which in turn is forcing those creators to find new ways to bypass YouTube entirely (either by abandoning it for Twitch, or by switching to Patreon support, or using stuff like Streamlabs to allow donations, etc).

A lot of younger people today seem to feel like they should be given everything for free and nothing should ever cost anyone anything, but that's never been the world we live in. You may find ads annoying, but without the ads you probably wouldn't be seeing the content at all because no one would be making it (and no one would be willing to host it even if they did).

My favorite sponsorship story is when a Twitch streamer was being paid to play a new gacha. She kept calling the characters waifus the first day and the days immediately after she stopped using the word altogether. Twitch chat noticed very quickly and it became a meme to post about it. When the sponsorship was over, she confessed that the sponsors asked her to stop calling the characters waifus.

I keep getting "You're signed out of YouTube" in the top right.
"Try Youtube Premium" in the lower left.
"Sign in for the best viewing experience" in the video.
There's too much stuff covering the screen space to see the ads.
At this point the best adblocker is not having a youtube account.

I use ublock origin on firefox for android and don't get em. This is why I dislike the actual app

Oh if this thread is about paid promotions, yea those are fine as you can just skip them.
They are actually my preferred method of being served ads as I know they cannot inject malicious data into my computer.
Plus the Youtube creator gets paid per view. Watched a recent video about this where the guy explained how this worked.
