Does Wolfe do a good job explaining stuff? I read a little of it back in the day but found it not all that interesting and gave up on it. It's kind of hard to follow because it zips between what the people are doing and what Ken Kesey is thinking with little distinction between which is which. It comes off as a story best told in cinema format more then book. If you're looking for a more descriptive explanation of what being on LSD or hallucinogens in general I'd recommend looking into Terrance McKenna instead. He gets into the nitty-gritty about doing hallucinogens.
