I watched/read some reviews and there seems to be a divide. All the racing sim advocates seem to despise it while casuals like how more arcade-y it is compared to previous Project Cars titles. I lean more towards the casual/arcade side of racing but I like having customization options and such. I've never played a project cars game before too.

If you like a forza style simcade with an ok career mode and a stingy ability to earn cash, give it a go.

But despite being a new game it's basically already on life support, there hasn't been a patch since launch month when there are a lot of small improvements they can make to make the game a little better.

And the season pass is shit, don't bother with it.

If you want my more comprehensive thoughts on it https://mikelikesthis.net/2020/09/06/review-project-cars-3/

For me, gran turismo is just better. If they made an effort, pc3 could have a spot for it's offline single player, but there are just a few too many annoyances for me to really see myself going back to it. I did get a good 50 or so hours into it, so even though I bought it at launch price I got my value. But if it wasnt for work from home being the new normal, I I probably only would have put in 15-20

I read the more in-depth review on your site and that's a shame. Like I said I lean more into the casual/arcade-y type racers but hearing the slow progress of gaining credits is a big turnoff. I want to be able to test a buncha different cars and customize them so it sucks when a game throttles that ability so slowly. Ah well. Thanks for the input!

You can use any car in the custom events, even if you don't own it. But you can't upgrade or change the set ups.
