Do you have one of these?

American user Ju Tha Jeweller has gone viral after she discovered a VERY useful ite to help boil WATER after she spent years boiling it on the stove!!

She wrote "So i finally converted to an electric kettle and this mf really boils water in 2 minutes. I had tea 3 times today"

She was quickly inundated with responses as another said they JUST found out about this "godsend" kitchen appliance last year and has now gone viral with over 170,000 views

She saw the kettle at Target after growing tired of warming the water on the stoeve and shared her experiences on how to use this simple kettle

In fact it's so simple to boil water in these things that it shuts off by itself and you don't have to rush to turn it off when using a stove

This has left people in stitches on this discovery as one user said "Americans have found kettles"

Another said "America just surprises me. This thing is all over third world countries that don't have electricity"

Explaining the lack of kettles in the US, one user said "People here just aren't hardcore hot tea drinkers. Way more likely to have an electric coffeemaker than an electric kettle. I didn't knwo it existed until 5 years ago. I asked for it for Xmas, my whole family was like, that's a thing, wanted one too lol"

But people said that boiling water isn't just for tea drinkers but also to boil water for water drinkers or even to use for quick ramen and making jello and flavoured drinks.

They are however NOT big sellers in the United States as many prefer to heat up their food using microwaves and with the traditional use of a stove

Do you know what this is?

i know what it is. but i don't like tea so no point to me. if you're making pasta wouldn't you need to fill it with water like 5 times to fill up a big pot? sure it might boil a bit faster but that's extra work. you could just fill up the pot and just let it sit till it boils and start getting things ready for your sauce.

Tea is the most widely consumed beverage in the world next to water, and can be found in almost 80% of all U.S. households. It is the only beverage commonly served hot or iced, anytime, anywhere, for any occasion. On any given day, over 159 million Americans are drinking tea.Annual Consumption: (U.S.)In 2019, Americans consumed over 84 billion servings of tea, or more than 3.8 billion gallons.
On any given day, more than one half of the American population drinks tea. On a regional basis, the South and Northeast have the greatest concentration of tea drinkers

So in summation dirty water is the most wildly drank liquid in the world when you account for coffee tea and poorly mantained watersystems

Except these people aren't drinking hot tea requiring a kettle. They're drinking Arizona/Nestle iced teas or sweet tea.

And there's no way half of the American population is drinking tea every day. If you believe that, you've never lived in America.

1) Americans are much more likely to have coffee makers which can usually brew tea too
2) Americans don't drink tea as much as Brits (& a large portion of those who do drink iced tea)
3) Plenty of Americans have regular kettles (those heated on a stove) but not electric
4) as mentioned for things like ramen, microwaves are everywhere in the US-- I literally don't know anyone who doesn't have a microwave.

i boil water for my coffee on the stove because electric kettles are pieces of shit, especially the $9 ones. And it seems the cheap aluminum stovetop kettles are a casualty of the china tariffs because they literally don't exist in stores anymore.
