I asked for a manager/supervisor once when trying to fix an issue with my cell phone plan, but it was only because the agent I was speaking with was literally incompetent and unable to keep straight what the issue was regarding my plan that needed to be fixed. I asked for a manager, she said the manager would say "the same thing" as her, I told her I doubted that since she said half a dozen contradicting things and clearly wasn't helping anyone, asked one more time to speak with a supervisor, and she disconnected the call.

So I called again, asked to speak with the supervisor. The agent, clearly smarter, tried to de-escalate, as is part of the script and job, and I told them respectfully to skip it because I had already gone spoken to someone who couldn't help me and hung up on me rather than transferring me over. Then I was transferred, and the problem I was having was resolved in due haste. All the contradicting takes by the customer support and the store clerks came to an end, and my plan suddenly worked the way it needed to. Thanks, AT&T.

Yes, I was calling another store in the mall to ask if we could borrow some racks for our inventory.

No but I have been offered to talk to the manager and accepted. The manger fixed my slight issue so it was fine. The employee was new on the job and she actually seemed a nice, helpful person. She just wasn't sure if a refund was allowed so wanted to be safe rather than sorry so offered for em to talk to the manager.

Yes, because but only because if I have an issue, I don't think it's the responsibility of a "grunt" employee. They got enough shit to deal with.

Yes, because when I'm dispatched to do a project at a store I need to check in with the manager before I start doing stuff with their systems.

Yes I have a few times, but only when I know it's not the fault of the employee. If it's the fault of the employee I rip into them. It's been quite a few years since I've had to do either though.

I did ask to speak to a manager the last time I tried to schedule a FedEx pickup because I'd been on the phone for over 30 minutes and been transferred 7 times and hung up on twice because their phone system is complete crap.

Uhmmm, I don't think so. Maybe when I was trying to get my debit card back, and they weren't accepting my passport as valid ID. That might've just been the new kid grabbing the supervisor tho. That was dumb.

I've heard it's one of the popular Karen questions. However, I don't recall ever telling workers that I wanted to speak to the manager. I've run into problems before, and if the worker can't take care of my problem, I would ask if there was anyone who could. Sometimes, they offered me to speak to the manager or bring the manager to me.
