What do you do?

Your 16 year old daughter (or at least a young girl you have legal custody of) collapses one day in agony and is hospitalized.

After a long diagnosis period where she is bedridden The Doctor discovers she has an extremely rare terminal condition that is currently incurable.

Doctors believe with treatment she could potentially live for anywhere between a few months to several years in a degenerative state of chronic pain and intense physical/cognitive deterioration kept alive by a cocktail of drugs and daily medical treatments as her body slowly falls apart. Without treatment she will only live a few weeks.

But she doesn't want that. She says the pain felt like being smacked around by wrecking ball and the drugs only takes the edge off it. She despises being uselessly stuck in bed unable to do anything, the incredible pain and the idea of mental decay.

The concept that this only going to get worse and a lot worse at that terrifies her. Feeling completely unhappy she instead wants to unburden herself from this world and just die if this is what life entails.

The doctors encourage you to ignore her and have the treatments. Fight for as long as you can. Who knows what the future holds?

Your insurance covers the treatments.

As a minor her views are considered utterly irrelevant legally and the decision of how to proceed is up to you.

One of the hardest questions there is too answer and sadly some people are having to make it.

What would you do?
And what is your thought process?

Makes daddy happy by staying alive, pain is irrelevant as long you stay alive there will be hope she can be cured one day.

No moral dilemma here: I'd be firmly against it. It's 100% my own selfishness and I couldn't care less how anyone on Earth feels about that. I would never let my daughter die. When she's a legal adult, she can decide for herself, but I could never go along with that decision.

I've been pro euthenasia for a long time. I'd talk to her and make sure that's what she wanted, then have a day where we watcher her favorite movie or listen to her favorite album or whatever before I help her move on.

While legally she doesn't, I believe she owns her life. As such, it would be immoral for me to force her into the treatment she doesn't want.

This is a poorly designed topic. We literally see these all the time at the hospital. As long as they aren't currently on life support they can go hospice. In this situation I'd agree to home hospice and just have her at home with a bunch of pain and anxiety meds and enjoy the remaining time we have with family. This is not euthanasia. Euthanasia in this case would be actively giving her something that would kill her now. That doesn't even make sense if she only has a few weeks.

Every poll option starts with supporting or being against euthanasia when that'd not the case. You might as well start each answer with, "I like taco bell"

My wife would be a complete wreck. I think I'd be alright in the long run, but I dont think she would ever come back from losing a child and she's very opposed to euthanasia specifically. I dont have a firm stance on it but understand it and dont think it should be illegal or anything.

I've watched two of my family waste away in hospital beds, long past the point of having any quality of life. Especially my Grandma. She had Parkinson's so bad to the point that she could not physically move or speak. Her body was contorted into the most ungodly uncomfortable position I could imagine and she just laid there unable to communicate or move. It was heart wrenching every time I saw her. No person deserves to exist like that if they don't want to.

In Life Is Strange I refused to kill Chloe

I am pro-Euthanasia but I don't feel comfortable deciding between life and death. Same reason why if I was a governor I wouldn't sign any death penalty authorizations.
