Boston Dynamics is now officially part of Hyundai Motor Group. The Korean conglomerate has struck a deal with Softbank to acquire a controlling interest an 80 percent stake in the robotics company for $1.1 billion. Softbank will retain a 20 percent stake through one of its affiliates. The companies have been in talks since at least early November, and the deal is expected to be finalized in June 2021.

I love Hyundai. I bought 2 of them and would very much buy another Hyundai in the future, especially if it had legs.

Knowing Hyundai though, they will use this company to add features to their already fully loaded cars

Toyotas are better TBH (and hondas)

While I like both the Hyundais I drove (a 2017 elantra and a 2017 Tuscon), I prefer my current 2012 accord

I think it's cool that my car from about a decade ago is basically like cars from the 90s technology wise. The only thing it has is built-in access to satellite radio, it doesn't even have bluetooth functionality. Yet if I were to be an average used car from 2020 it would be guaranteed to have an infotainment screen and maybe even stuff like lane assist, automatic braking, etc.

Cars in 2030 are going to be awesome
