What kind?

If you're not sure if it's furnace or boiler, it's probably furnace.

Gas furnace! But the key as we all know is winterizing your home by sealing up any leaks around windows, doors etc.

Nah theyre those just basically electric radiators that run along the baseboard of two or three walls in a room. Some people have different names for them. Theyre also a mother fucker on my electric Bill and I hate them.

I'm always generating around 98.6f degrees of heat. It's a good barrier from the cold.

I have three of these in my apartment, and two of them work (despite the work order for one being fixed a year ago). I despise them more for being beneath the windows, which makes it difficult, if not impossible, to put up my nice curtains in my bedroom to block out the street lights (and some sound). At least I can't do it without causing a fire hazard.

Chalk it up to yet another reason I dislike my current residence.

Geothermal definitely, I just wouldn't think more than 1-2 people here would have that. I don't know, would solar still require an electric furnace, just powered by solar panels? I never heard of the other one.

A solar heating system uses water to absorb and store heat from the sun for hot water and space heating.

District heating uses a large central heating unit, often part of a power plant or factory capturing waste heat (cogeneration), to generate hot water or steam, which is then distributed throughout an entire neighborhood using insulated pipes.

We have a gas furnace... but it has an electric ignitor, so if the power goes out it doesn't work. Big brain time... But we also have a bunch of gas fireplaces that will work in the event of a power outage.

Wood fireplace and a couple small personal heaters. We use the heaters when we are in a different room from the fireplace or cant use it if it hasnt rained for awhile before it gets cold.
