took a while for me. kinda surprising since I tend to squeeze the shit out of my controllers and I played mostly handheld. took about 2 years with moderate use.

Not sure, but all 4 of my joy cons (2 left 2 right) did, two of them really bad. I got my Switch in winter of 2017 with another pair of joy cons a bit after. Mine starting drifting really bad like a month or two before Nintendo started offering free repairs, so around summer of 2019.

I would say they had fairly heavy use. I would play often with my friends in four player games and I would play a lot of Switch games myself.

I should say I also have a brother and 2 friends that have had severe drift issues. My brother and one friend got their Switch around launch, my other friend had hers start drifting within a year of owning it. My left joy con is also having weird connectivity issues these days. It does not detect it as connected when slotted into the Switch sometimes, so I need to take it out and either use the "find" function or hold down the little sync button and slot it back into the Switch. It's the joy con because my other left one doesn't do that.

This problem started within a couple hours of owning the system though. My left joycon will disconnect randomly on top of not wanting to connect in the first place.
