For finding a job, is there some type of building you go to, and what is it called? How does it work? Also, do you physically have to go to a building to claim unemployment benefits? Is it the same building?

i got my unemployment benefits entirely online.

as for a building to find employment, there are places like that (temp agencies), but in my experience, its more common to apply online, and they call you if they want to schedule an interview.

The government usually funds a third party non profit type of organisation and they work on behalf of ther government for finding people jobs. Like a contractor.

This is how it is in NYC

If you're lucky you might find a work source.
It's basically a facility that has job workshops that help people look into jobs, maybe they might have a computer lab for people that need the internet capabilities to apply for jobs online or as a means to create resumes and such, some work source facilities may even be sponsored by various private companies that have their own staff train or recruit people into their organization.

NY unemployment agency has job search resources. But you can just go on any job board online which has better and more thorough job listings anyway.

My step brother started going to one in Georgia.

Its funded by the state, they have presentation and training courses. They have counselors that check to see if you are mentally or physically disabled and if so help you apply for benefits. They also set him up with interviews etc.

Hes kinda a weird guy, really nice, but he would fit right in with some of the stranger people here. He hasnt had a job besides Uber or lift for years even though he has a comp sci degree from Georgia tech.

Apparently hes working now though, which is good, though I have no idea what he is doing.
