Both are on sale on steam, been interested in these games... but I only want to play one. Are they even connected? Which one is better?

The first one is better in the fact it feels like its more you vs overwhelming odds and the story is better to me tbqh.

the second game has better combat imo, has large battles and keep taking, and more interesting fights bosswise, with a bigger world and more orc variety, but its definitely a bigger timesink than the first game with a lot more filler, the story isnt as good as the first game, and up until the most recent patch, required some end game grinding to get the best ending, but that was fixed in the final patch for the game taking out the paid lootboxes.

i enjoyed both and you cant go wrong with either. Theyre connected in that shadows of war is a direct sequel to shadow of morder yes. If you dont give a shit about the story and want a grander, bigger game with bigger battles and less sneaky sneaky, go with the second game

I just finished Mordor for the first time last night. Really fun game - I enjoyed the simplicity of it in terms of combat, controls, etc.
