So, your PS4 has downloaded the update file for, say, Call of Duty: Warzone. It then needs to install it, and it does this by basically copying the whole game file, and adds the patch in the process. I always figured that if you uninstall a game and then download it again, you still have to download the updates separately for the game afterward, thus still having to deal with the whole copying bullshit again.
