Is anyone else watching this? Ive always heard Invincible is really good but Ive never actually opened it up and didnt know anything about it other than it was Kirkmans superhero comic that became popular at around the same time that The Walking Dead comic was becoming popular with comic fans.

Turns out people are right. Its really fucking good.

Im surprised I havent heard more people talk about it. Ive only watched 5 episodes so far but I have had multiple moments where I just said HOLY SHIT!

Some of the animation is just okay but then there are these big action set pieces set to cool music and its almost something straight out of Heavy Metal. The characters are actually interesting and a lot of the voice casting was perfect imo.

I very much recommend this show.

Just marathon'd it. Wish I discovered this when it was like at season 3 or something. Want more! JJ Jameson is great, such a charismatic voice.

Amazon just renewed it for TWO more seasons

It's a damn good show, and by the way the man's name is JK Simmons and he is a damn fine actor in all facets of acting.

The voice acting started out really stiff (even from my man JK Simmons), but it seemed to get more natural as the season went.

The show itself is definitely jumping around in the story a lot, and also expanding things that happened in the comics (things that happened in a few panels with zero dialog become entire sideplots) but I see this as a good way to expand the material as compared to the later Walking Dead seasons

The last episode of the season is like the final battle from Man of Steel if Zack Snyder wasn't a fucking hack

I like it but, and this is a fairly silly complaint, i dislike how every show is an hour long these days. Makes it harder to sit down and watch multiple episodes.

That small gripe aside, I'm 5 episodes in and it's pretty great so far.

Decided to watch the first ep based solely on this topic

Wow, a story about Superman, but it's like, what if Superman was EVIL. What a fresh new take on the Superman mythos. Never seen that before.

But I'm gonna assume this show is good beyond just shock value gore, because people really seem to like it. But maybe I'm overestimating comic book fans. The idea of pitching Omniman's son as the main character obviously presents a lot of cool potential ways this could go.
