Every time I want to start this game over and attempt it on hard mode I have to go through this 40 min gauntlet with no save points

I keep dying and it's infuriating

It's not the hard mode that's the problem it's 40 minutes without a save point and if you die once you have to start the whole game over again

Hard mode's really not worth it. All that changes is how much damage you take, so you end up dying in at most like 3 hits even with a ton of extra health and defense, but enemies still die just as fast as normal anyway.

So hard mode isn't actually hard and you can't die if you understand how the dodge mechanic works. It has no limit like Bayonetta has, so you can literally just spam dodge and shoot and never take damage. It's not fun to do, but if you want to make sure you don't die at the start and need to play on hard mode, that's what you do. Literally never stop pressing dodge and hold down shoot.
