3-1 - Dahlia Hawthorne

3-2 - Luke Atmey

3-3 - Furio Tigre

2-4 - Matt Engarde

1-5 - Damon Gant

DL-6 - Manfred von Karma

This is a loaded category. You'd be hard pressed to find a top 5 culprits list that didn't have most of these characters on it. I think I still have to respect the finger snap, but there are no bad votes here.

It was a close vote! There are definitely good villains after the OT, but part of the problem is not enough people played AAI2, which might have the best collective cast of bad guys in the series.

I'm actually surprised 2-4 is kicking 1-5's ass. Seems like the 1-5 villain is always brought up as a favorite whereas 2-4 always seems to get ignored.

Yeah, this is pretty difficult. I'll go with DL-6, but it could really be anyone.

It's kinda interesting thinking of each game's set of culprits. I don't think OT has an amazing set of culprits, but they really nail down the epic culprit concept. When they go high, they aim for the moon.

T&T has my favorite set of culprits, but AAI2 is a close second. Every other game has its lows and highs.

I think it's partly because we're voting for cases rather than individuals?

Sure, but more for his effect on the case than him as a character, I think. Whereas with 1-5, it's all because he's a super entertaining character.

2-4's culprit is great, but I think 1-5's culprit is just really charismatic. It helps that their damage animation is probably one of the best in the series.

Perhaps, but he does have some super memorable villainous moments and an all-time great breakdown.

2-4 is less fun than 1-5 on a character basis, but 2-4's role in the plot isn't something you can really ignore when judging them.

I think DL-6's bad guy works because it's really the closest thing the series has to a "final boss" of a game. There hasn't been anything like him since, which is a good thing honestly. They shouldn't try to recreate that.

I don't think he's brought up more often! I see them both regularly discussed as the best villains in the series.

I will say that 2-4's villain is more the situation as a whole than any one character. I'm kinda voting more on that then the guy in the poll specifically.

Nah, she's a recurring boss, but the finale doesn't end there.

I feel like Alba was made as a final boss, and he shows exactly what not to do

Yeah, that's true, but it shows what makes the role von Karma plays unique.

Id say every game in the series has a clear final boss except for arguably Justice For All. The first game has two!

I mean, yeah, the epic case villains operate as final bosses, so to speak, but none of them function on the level of von Karma, not even Godot in 3-5 because he's not even viewed as the main threat until the very, very end (and he's super laidback in general).

The final boss doesnt need to be telegraphed as such beforehand! The culprit of 3-5 is still very much a final confrontation that resolves several games worth of buildup. Also you could say the same thing about 1-4 really, they were not the main culprit.

This is what makes 1-5s villain great though, although I voted for 2-4. They are a convincing final boss of the game despite only appearing in one case. Same with E1-5 but less good.
