I had nokia 3200 back in the day and all the cool kids had digital music players so i asked my mom to buy me an mp3 players.

I had some kind of Samsung one with touch controls but it wasn't touch screen, the buttons were capacitive. Good times.

I still use my iPod Classic every day.

I still use my 120GB iPod Classic for driving. It's the only way to have my entire music collection with me without using data.

I went through a couple of iRiver players, then a Creative Zen, then a Cowon S9/J3 (gave the S9 to one of my cousins after buying the J3). The Zen and the J3 still work.

It was a beast in it's own right and went through many batteries lmao, it continued to work until I eventually replaced it with an iPod in 2006.

Plus an old school MP3 player accidentally falling out your pocket will still work fine unlike the fragile modern devices that are intentionally designed that way to ensure more bucks.

I love my iPod Classic. I kind of wish I had another one.

Like, fine if they wanna make all their iPods with WiFi and stuff now, but they could at LEAST make them high-storage for those of us who like to keep our entire music libraries on our devices and not rely on streaming.

They can't make money off you that way though, please understand Mr. Consumer that they are only thinking about their families that they must feed so please pay for their streaming services.

My wife was looking for an MP3 player a couple of years ago because she didn't want to load down her phone with music and using wifi isn't an option. Every store she went to, they looked at her like she was asking to buy a unicorn or something

It's great having a dedicated mp3 player. I use an old ipod touch that I just download music to and separate by genre.

Its so bad

Thats why I wish, as convenient as streaming can be, that it didnt really take off as well as it has. I totally get the appeal, especially to the more casual crowd, but I really wish that the people like me were more plentiful.

Yeah, I appreciate that plenty of people love Spotify, but the free version has annoying limitations (ads, limits to amount of songs that can be skipped, shuffle play only if on mobile), so I prefer a dedicated mp3 player.

But, even with the majority preferring streaming, ipods still offers decent storage capacities. The classic goes up to 160GB for example, which is enough for 10k+ songs.
