Not forever, but I was optimistic that the pandemic was going to be one of the most unifying causes in American history. I legitimately believed it would get everyone to put aside politics and agree on something factually and morally good: ending a pandemic through preventative measures and vaccinations. I didn't even think it would be possible for such toxic disagreement, not even in the middle of a divisive Presidency. I couldn't comprehend it.

Did you though? Because America was pretty much split on this from the beginning of the pandemic. Exactly at what point did you believe this?

my guess: never. Youre just one of those people who like to pretend they have hope only to shit on everything.

I had hope Biden was going to unite the Republicans and Democrats and we were all going to work together in peace and harmony.

Nah, for something to unify the country, it would have to be something that is so disastrous that the attempt to politicize it would be seen through by the masses. It would be something so devastating that even corrupt politicians would perhaps think of the good of humanity rather than their own self interests.

Covid was neither of those things. Statistically, Covid is a beefed up flu. It's not catastrophic enough to cut through the bs. You don't get a virus with a near 100% survival rate and expect it to unite the country. What you get is the opportunity for corrupt and greedy politicians and corporate interests selling the virus like it's worse than it is to get what they want but not sell it bad enough to unite the country.

This has been one of the most destructive pandemics in human history. I don't know how Republicans could say it was fear-mongering when the Democrats haven't even taken it seriously enough.

This is what I'm talking about. There's no reason any of that bullshit should have mattered. There is nothing to disagree about. Everyone Democrat or Republican should have been happily masking up. Vaccine manufacturers shouldn't even be able to keep up with the demand as everyone from every walk of life flocks to their local doctor or pharmacy. Honestly, homophobia makes more logical sense to me that whatever the fuck the pandemic was in America.

The flu never left me with a damaged heart and ED. This is patently false and you ought to be ashamed for peddling this misinformation more than a full fucking year since this shitshow began.

Please get vaccinated if you haven't. Save yourself the potentially permanent and crippling side effects.

Best I can do right now is 3/4 staff. It's not enough to penetrate, but enough to finish manually, but it's very hard to get there. If I can get my heart healthier it might get better, but my doctor has told me not to get too hopeful.

I mean its not a 100% guarantee when you get covid but heart inflammation is one of the possible unlikely symptoms and its not nice, most people get on just fine with their lives after getting covid, but in general the lingering side effects and the overall risks are significantly worse than the flu

Oh come on, man. Now we're buying into the "Doctors are blaming everything on COVID to make money" conspiracy? Why would it even matter what caused the symptoms they are treating? Are the people that manufactured COVID-19 really paying doctors that well? Medical ethics just completely destroyed with a single pandemic?

anyway, yeah 6 times higher is significant but with such a small sample size, could easily be because of things they didn't think of to exclude. make it like 10,000 sample size or w/e, idk

uh we have plenty to trust in medicine and doctors and etc. that's why you get more opinions if you need to (and you always should if you can) and leave good reviews for the good doctors and if someone breaks the law with kickbacks and etc, send their asses to jail

2% of the USA population is over 6.6 million people.

2,977 people died on the September 11th terrorist attacks in 2001.

That means 2,200 times more people would die from COVID then literally 9/11.

But the deaths are not evenly distributed across ages. Most deaths are for older people. If you are under 50, very little chance you will die if it. Over 85, youll probably die, but you are already over the life expectancy for people in the US so you may have ended up dying of natural causes soon anyway.

Unlike cancer and heart disease, Covid isn't a broad category of diseases that are an unavailable consequence of humanity up until the moment we discovery immortality. Heart disease also kills more per Americans per year than WW2. I guess WW2 wasn't a big deal then?

Both WW2 and Covid were/are acute threats that require an organized and dramatic response.

Also, we actually do respond to acute causes of heart disease and cancer. The US has made some pretty significant policy decisions in an attempt to curb the use of smoking for instance.
