It helps to kill worms and other parasites in horses
Among anti vaxxers it's the new hydroxychloroquine

Speaking of hydroxychloroquine, had a patient call on Tueday and tell me that the CDC quietly admitted that it's effective against COVID, but they are too embarrassed that they were wrong to say it loudly. Said our corporate policy should change to allow for unrestricted filing of it for COVID.

It turns out it helps according to some studies coming out of India, I think S America as well. It does the same thing the mrna vaccines do in that it blocks the protein from attaching cuz it's already latched on, it's just not near as effective. Still better than nothing, would have been good to know at the beginning of the pandemic, but rendered entirely moot with the vaccine supply already meeting the needs. I think it was something like 30% effective at preventing the virus compared to placebo group and helped people from getting as sick.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8088823/

For countries without access to the vaccines it would probably help significantly. I got both shots and I'm already itching for my Delta variant booster in a country with more vaccines than we're ever going to need, which is what really makes the entire thing silly.

I don't get why people are getting hung up on ivermectin being used for horses, like that's supposed to be a slight against it. It's been used to treat parasites in humans for around 40 years now. It still sees widespread use in Africa for stuff like river blindness. That being said, you're a fool if you're taking it to prevent covid or in lieu of getting the covid vaccine. But people trying to make it sound like humans don't already take ivermectin for legitimate uses, are just ignorant.

I assume horse paste can kill you due to the poison control calls, and people still take it.
