V is indeed legit amazing. Actually too deep for me, tbqh. I prefer the more simple Souls combat of well-timed big R1s.

Also, V was fun to play as.

It's crazy especially with dante. I am not that good with action game but qhwn you pull off perfect parry then smash them with fist sword motorcycle thing just so satisfying

i play on hard, easier than 3, but harder than 4 (but then I played 4 on normal back then)

Did you try and play as Vergil yet with the DLC? He is broken. Every fight is basically guaranteed S rank combos, he has some of the best music in the game, he FEELS like a boss character.

i played bayo 2 2 months before DMC V and it was meh compared to DMCV.

it was good as good as any platinum games, but still I dislike the overeliance of witch time in Bayonetta and other platinum time with the slomo dodge.

well 2 literally only had 4-5 development. I did like the nice ideas it had like trish, lucia, bloody palace, majin devil trigger etc.

Also, did you ever play the switch version of DMC3? Apparently you can style change during combat now

Funny you say this, remembering the PS4 version has Vergil DLC is what motivated me to play again after my brother's PS4 got bricked. Vergil does feel pretty limited as a new game character though, kinda getting the feeling that I should just focus on clearing the main game again so I can actually afford getting upgrades for Vergil. I'm already having fun with him as is, and I'm looking forward to really having fun with him later on when I can afford more upgrades.

Playing as Vergil makes it SUPER easy to max him out. I just focused on fully upgrading Yamato first, then as I fully upgraded other things, I moved on to using more and more weapons.

I dunno man either I'm really rusty or I just suck at Vergil right now but I got wrecked by fucking Goliath of all bosses. I definitely at least want to play the main game if only so I can get more blue/purple orbs. You know, for a confidence boost, haha.

What you do is upgrade mirage blades and Yamato fully. Make your mirage blades spin around you, then make them hone in on the enemy, trick towards them, air combo, trick again whenever they are about to attack(Vergil disappears for a moment, it's essentially a dodge), then do his helm-breaker.

That alone should net you S or SS by itself, depending on how fast you do it. And it'll probably charge up your DT massively. I never had devil trigger energy issues with Vergil, since his combos are so good at getting high combo ratings. In fact, usually I charge up my SDT before I do ANYTHING just in case, because in SDT, you: heal, have longer combos, and can't get staggered.
