I didnt deploy to Afghanistan but this shit is just as disappointing as when we pulled out of Iraq and ISIS just ran through it. And that it wasn't until a few years later that membership started to surge again as a response to US occupation. I'm definitely interested in learning more about the Taliban specifically after this. There's lots of talk out there about the corruption and ineffectiveness of the Afghan government, but not as much about how the Taliban specifically were able to maintain such influence and power while in hiding. --- I have no idea whether or not he's a racist, but apparently there are recordings of him using racial slurs so it's a distinct possibility. <cite>Blighboy posted [p:957274826] in This Afgha... I mean, all the aircraft is for the Afghan army (although, it is useless to the Taliban) and most of the M4s that the taliban soilders are carrying around look very new, almost like they never were used, which makes me think that they got them from a Afghan army stockpile, since the US ones are much more used typically.
