I haven't finished it but I've just hit the twist.

I was expecting something that was more like a narrative game like David Cage but it's not really. It's very much a point and click adventure puzzle game. Which I've really enjoyed. So even if the story goes to shit after this twist I've still had a good time.

Just finished the game and yeah the Kotaku article wasn't wrong. Even helped my understand what the deal was with the cop's daughter.

I actually thought the incest part of the twist was fine. Fucked up twists in thrillers like this can work. But it was weird how they just couldn't stop the twists.

Your wife killed her Dad and that's why the Cop did it
Actually her brother killed her Dad
Also you're her brother
Also the Cop is your Dad
And the Dad is hypnotizing you to forget about his daughter and everything in this game represents that and there was no murder or Cop barging into the apartment

It's like if they removed one or two of these twists it would make more sense. Like even if they went with the 'everything in this 12 minutes isn't real' I think it would work if the hypnosis was after the wife's murder from the cop and the loop represents him finding out the truth.

It's just a bit messy really.

At least I found the puzzle solving fun although not everyone seemed to. It's pretty hilarious how much of a video game it actually is. After the first loop (which you can still screw over for no reason) the game straight away gives the main character options to talk about time loops. Like dude you literally just died and came back. You shouldn't know you're in a time loop yet. I think most narrative games would have scripted the first two or three loops and then let the player loose to solve puzzles.
