Self-diagnosis is pretty much endemic, especially when it comes to disorders that give you a valid excuse to justify being an asshole ("It's not my fault, I've got Assburgers! You're not allowed to be mad at me when I'm a total shit!"). The sad part is people who do that only make it harder for the people who legitimately have issues to find help and acceptance, because too many people crying wolf does tend to generate a "Ahh, he's just faking/full of shit" backlash sort of reaction.
