I've been living under a rock. Turns out all I need to do to block ads on Android is to use the Adguard DNS in my settings. No more Brave browser...

Just used dns.adguard.com

It's not too bad on Safari with the introduction of adblocking extensions but I don't think there's anything system wide that I know of.

How?

https://adguard.com/en/adguard-ios/overview.html

This is the blocker I had been using for Safari.

This solution averts the need to install separate browsers. That said, it's not a bad mobile browser / extension combo in my experience.

For sure! I think this is probably the best solution for adblocking system wide outside of rooting a device or something to my knowledge.
