background: I take care of people with dementia diseases who still lives in their own homes not care facilites.

Malnutrition among the elderly and people with dementia is a huge problem in Sweden.

The usual service provided by the muniplicity is pre packages cold meals that you microwave or the home care staff buy and deliver food from restaurant.

My team decided the that we can provide home cooked meals 2 times a day, promoting to include them in the process as much as they are able.

it took hard work and still is improving. But atm every patient has a custom meal plan from what they like, easy enough meals to prepare, dietary needs etc.

Before, many patient were losing weight slowly, despite nutritional boosters like drinks and gel.

Now I havent seen them for a long time, and they dont lose weight (tho some are still too sick to live at home and need a facility and lose weight). 2 years ago we won an award from our muniplicity for about $2500 to use for education etc.

I wish this was applied more, but it needs actual teamwork and a badass boss and will.

But the elder care in Swden is mostly very bad.

i want to end my health care career at this workplace. And soon. I love my coworkers, but atm I just dont feel the same passion anymore.

As Ive said several times before, my passion has changed to wanting to work with food and cooking.

Thing is I have no idea what path to take. I want to be able to be creative, make the ppl happy, do different things in the cooking world, inspire others and hopefully make more money than my shitty ass pay.
