Believe in Jesus.
There are passages that talk about the fact that if you really believe in Jesus, and who he was, what he taught. Then you will carry out good works. So the good works themselves don't actually save you, but if you actually truly believe the good works will naturally flow out of that genuine belief. Someone who is being sanctified by the holy spirit will naturally produce good works. If someone does not produce good works or continues to persist in an abundance of sin, it calls into question their sincerity. Can't really guarantee that one way or another though as it isn't our role to judge.
