I didnt finish college as far as I wanted, and now Im working a factory job for $20/hr. Which is actually solid cash where I live, my apartment is only $600/month, and my wife also works. So were making more than we spend and can afford thing thankfully.

I got an associates in IT, dropped out before getting a bachelors because I was so depressed. But anywhere I apply wants a bachelors. Havent been able to get on anywhere, and couldnt here regardless since theres nothing in this area. Id have to move or make a long commute.

Its not bad, and Im happy but I definitely feel like Ive made some poor choices which couldve made life much easier for me.

I am in recovery. I have a felony conviction, am on SSDI and take medication for schizophrenia. I also live with my parents. With that said i have accomplished a lot these last 4 years. I am doing really well. This year i grew my net worth to over 10k. Overall life is getting better. I have been sober for 3 years. This year i quit drinking soda. I have lost 15lbs since july too and my medication has been reduced.

I lost two jobs this year. Last one stings particularly because I never spoke against my nightmare of a manager to her boss, and it ended in a bit good way, downright illegal on their end. I also know several people in that job from a previous job in other departments I am really cool with. One of my good friends actually referenced me my last job. I made a lot of good friends, but it feels so shameful now and I feel like I let him down

Yep.

Also I'm shocked how miserable we all seem to be.

Is everybody over 20 or so just miserable?

I feel like I remember a time where misery wasn't the norm. But maybe that's just what childhood looks like until you know better.

Similar feels here. Everything starts to feel stale after a certain age.

Sometimes people tell me the endless miserable I feel isn't normal, it's just depression.

I feel a bit better when I believe them, that life isn't supposed to be this way, even though the misery doesn't go away.

I haven't really believed them much lately.

That's not what the butterfly effect says. That's just regular multiverse theory. The butterfly effect is a different thing about small influences on chaotic systems.

You're not taking that and applying it to the multiverse theory tho. Obv if you crumple a leaf, many things could happen. Chaos theory says that the worst WILL happen. Butterfly effect suggest that a bug squished on a london sidewalk could have an effect on the population of birds in New York.

Multiverse theory applies all of this and says it's happening, every variation from bad to best is taking place.

Most of the things wrong with my life are out of my control so there's not much to do there. Of course some things are indeed my fault but I always try to keep silent about the consequences I inflict upon myself. Many of which are also a lost cause, you can't move backward, you can only regress.

You are getting your terms mixed up.

What you said was not chaos theory. The "Chaos" in Chaos theory relates to the mathematical concept and not Jared Leto's joker.

Was a snitch when I was younger due to being taught that way for so long, made no friends and got bullied a lot, didnt know why I got bullied so I started pointing fingers at random aspects of myself that resulted in terribly low self-esteem. Not to mention my ADHD caused me to get horrendous grades in school. They were so bad that I guess I became delusional that there was some reason, that there was something different about me. Which was my ADHD, but I didnt know that. It developed into strong narcissism which I blame for losing my most important friends. And now, theres so many things I cant do because of what I think is wrong with myself. Theres a huge chance of recovery if I actually try, but usually Trying just results in worsening it so I guess I dont know.

No, ugh, that's just wrong on like 8 different levels and not what you said:

You said:

Which is wrong. You also said:

Butterfly effect suggest that a bug squished on a london sidewalk could have an effect on the population of birds in New York.

Which is moderately accurate, but goes against what you said before which was:

weekoldhotdog posted...

And this is inaccurate. The butterfly effect is a separate concept from multiverse theory.

ah, so me not being entirely accurate (by omitting words rather than outright being wrong) but later clarifying my understanding is what set this off. Well, at least know that I understand both concepts and I wished to apply them both for the benefit of the conversation?

I have a late start on things. I got comfortable with a good paying job at 23 with no real room for advancement and about 5 years ago that job took a hit so I make significantly less now and I've grown to despise the job. So I started to work on becoming a teacher at 42 at probably the worst time in existence, but Im really good with kids despite not having any.

I honestly cant look at pictures of myself as a kid and not think that I disappointed him. I just feel like a mess.

Because I'm so very lonely, and I have nothing that brings me joy or excitement. Nothing I look forward to and nothing that feels fun.

I loved having hopes, dreams, and a purpose. And I don't have any of those. I feel powerless and empty and scared.
