Looks like Chappelle won't be getting cancelled anytime soon

On October 8th, Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos responded to the questions in an internal email. It never feels good when people are hurting, especially our colleagues, he wrote. You should also be aware that some talent may join third parties in asking us to remove the show in the coming days, which we are not going to do.

Sarandos also said that Chappelles last special, Sticks & Stones, is Netflixs most watched, stickiest, and most award winning stand-up special to date.

He added:

Several of you have also asked where we draw the line on hate. We dont allow titles on Netflix that are designed to incite hate or violence, and we dont believe The Closer crosses that line. I recognize, however, that distinguishing between commentary and harm is hard, especially with stand-up comedy which exists to push boundaries. Some people find the art of stand-up to be mean spirited but our members enjoy it, and its an important part of our content offering.

Private meetings exist. If you're not invited, you don't have the right to be there. If you try to force your way in, well... that's basically trespassing.

you are arguing on the basis that she bursted into a meeting with higher ups...where in the article is that? Are CE Comments a credible source for you now just because it backs up your stance? For the record, I agree with you about bursting into a meeting being wrong. I just think you're so defiant on this because of the other obvious elephant in the room that also likely contributed to the suspension.

I think it did contribute to the decision, but probably not in the way you're thinking.

I think the reason this individual tried to attend a meeting without being invited was to rant about Chappelle, which resulted in appropriate disciplinary action. It's not like it was a firing.

In a statement emailed to The Verge, a Netflix spokesperson pushed back against the idea that Field was suspended for tweeting. It is absolutely untrue to say that we have suspended any employee for tweeting about this show, they said. Our employees are encouraged to disagree openly and we support their right to do so.

"They can disagree as long as it's on an ineffective digital platform that doesn't actually impact anything"

most woke CEmen do not have real jobs. in my world-spanning company there's only two tiers above director, the last tier simply being the CEO. this is like barging into a meeting of the top level execs in real life on the top floor or something. suspension is light really.

I'm guessing based on context here that it wasn't a polite attempt to listen in. I'm guessing it was a loud effort to protest against Dave Chappelle and they wouldn't take no for an answer.
