Quid always means pounds (Sterling) to me. No Brit ever refers to Renminbi or Dollars as quid.

But in Ireland they still say quid even after they switched to the Euro and it just doesn't seem right.

Would be like if Canadians started refering to dogs as cats.

I mean Republic of Ireland people obviously. Northern Ireland still uses the pound
