Does it? Apparently some planets like Gamora's prospered after Thanos's culling.

The celestials seem to be of the belief that conflict breeds innovation, and that's what they feed on iirc.

It did on Earth. Ajak mentions that the snap delayed the emergence.

Thanos is a deviant. That is the bigger issue with why they didn't interfere. I guess MCU isn't defining deviant the same way as the comics.

The movie stated that the celestials existed before the big bang, and are the same ones we saw. For beings so old, Thanos delaying it by a few thousand years was probably about equal to adding a couple of seconds to a bomb's timer.

Also, like mentioned above, the aftermath of war created prosperity. That was basically Thanos' entire motive. The celestials we're probably totally fine with delaying it a few seconds to speed it up in the long run. Like a movie where they cut the wrong wire, and timer stops, then restarts even faster.

Work in progress, please be patient.

Again, on Earth, this isn't what happened. First snap delayed it, second snap bringing back half the population sped it up. Unless they knew the second snap was coming, they probably should have done something about it. I guess this also assumes they knew the first snap was coming. It may have caught them by surprise. Eternals seemed pretty focused on their one planet. May not have been keeping an eye on galactic level threats.

Your point on their timeline is valid though. When they are operating on timelines of millions of years, probably don't care if some emergences get delayed by a few thousand years (if it even would have been that long).

Halfing the population of Earth takes it back to what it was in the 70s. 50 years is absolutely nothing to them.

We are in agreement. I was just saying even if it delayed it a few thousand years they still probably don't care.

Celestials are the gods of gods. They don't interfere with shit if they don't have to. It took the Eternals killing a Celestial for Areshem to pop by and say "what the fuck is going on in here". Even then, he didn't seem particularly upset.

Remember as well that only one of the Eternals could realistically have gotten to Wakanda/NY fast enough to do anything to help against Thanos either time, and thats still dependent on them even knowing whats going down.

Even in the movie when their own story starts escalating they still have to be rounded up. Theyre not omniscient.
