I think I became aware of it through a TV advert, but I don't think I've seen people talk about it at all. It's still considered a major franchise, isn't it?

I think because it is missing its mark. I am a woman who was in the right age range when it originally came out and loved the series. Even managed to watch the 2nd movie which truthfully sucked.

I cringed my way through the 1st episode. I hated it. And then they killed Big. And then each character gets a token POC to interact with because look we have diversity feels like just hitting certain checkboxes.
