Conservative Quebec Premier Francois Legault has BACKED DOWN on TAXING the UNVAXXED in his province as he admitted that they will not go ahead with it after vicious backlash and FALLING POLL NUMBERS despite his insistance it was to protect the "social cohesion" in the province!!

It would have been the first in the world in any country where unvaxxed people would be fined for not getting vaccinated after Quebec was hit hard by the pandemic with thousands of cases and hospitalizations

But when cases and hospitalizations started going down and the backlash he received, he said today that he will no longer implement the tax despite stating he had a bill ready to go and said "I understand that this divides Quebecers and right now we need to build bridges. My role is to try and bring quebecers together to stay united as people"

He denied he was backing down despite demands from the trucker convoy protest on Thursday and in Quebec this thursday on his threat of a tax

Details of the tax remained vague as he said it could have been included in tax filings and he wanted it to be significant enough that would get people to get vaccinated which seemed to cause a small bump in vaccinations after the announcement

He reiterated however that unvaccinated people are much more likely to end up in the ICU and deaths despite now a split in vaccinated people taking up hospital space

He said he will now use different measures to try to persuade people to get vaccinated such as sending DOOR TO DOOR offers at homevaccinations

Community advocates, biotheticists and other experts raised concerns over this proposal stating education is needed instead of a punitive measure as Justin Trudeau also would not commit to that kind of measure

But opposition Liberal Leader, Dominique Anglade said this tax was not a serious plan who said it was an empty threat to get people vaccinated and came up with the idea as not only irresponsible but was not thought out with any legal support behind it

His poll numbers fell slightly after the announcement but still remained high though given the upcoming October election this year, he did not want to take any chances

No he meant it. Quebec, which is part of Canada, not all of Canada, is very racist. So it makes sense they want to punish people that are different. They are easily the most racist province. Literally making facial coverings illegal.

I felt like of all choices to promote vaccinations, the tax seemed most reasonable. Unvaccinated are more likely to be hospitalized, which increases costs of health care, which would be helped funded by those likely to be added expense.

Unvaccinated are more likely to be hospitalized by what, exactly? Covid? Less than half the people admitted into the hospitals have covid when they arrive. Also, damn near 90% of the population is double jabbed. Your fear is extremely hip though, I must say.

obviously of COVID, Im just saying if youre trying to enforce vaccine shit, a tax still gives freedom of choice while helping fund increased healthcare costs. Same idea as why tobacco and alcohol is taxed to oblivion in most provinces.
