many conservatives don't understand that and they don't care either way.

i've seen videos where conservatives were advocating internment for gay people, because they thought gay people wouldn't be able to keep propagating if you kept them out of society.

Well not genetically, but they are trying to essentially remove trans people (and they won't stop there) from public eye. Trans people have always been born that way, but they are socially invisible when you suppress them. They'd still exist, just mentally tortured into silence.

You see how bigots talk about how everyone is "suddenly" LGBTQ.

I thought the bill/treaty/whatever was just about children making that decision, not adults making that decision.

Cis kids don't have to wait and cis kids don't have to worry about lifelong deformities from being unable to prevent their body from getting worse and worse before they can even begin to treat a problem.

Please enlighten us, how does it work? My understanding is puberty blockers and hormones in young teens are part of the treatment.

Yeah that's not eliminating trans people, that's making sure trans people are adults when they make the decision.

What it is is creating an atmosphere where a trans child, regardless of dysphoria, is deemed unfit to know themselves.

It's fostering a culture where a child must conceal or deny themselves, and using the power of the state to enforce that on people that a child should be able to trust: their parents and any adult authority figures like doctors and teachers.

Pretending this is about "being adults before making decisions" is a smokescreen. There is no good reason to deny trans children the advice, counsel, and early stage treatment that can give them a happier and more mentally fulfilled life.

Therefore, the conclusion can only be drawn that this is an effort to ultimately eliminate trans people. They have said they would do this and now they are doing it. We should believe these despots and bigots when they say what they are.

Let's just throw texas in the trash and replace it with a new state that isn't terrible.

All this "we care about the children" talk. Puh-lease. They know they just want to hurt people they don't like. They could at least admit they just want to be cruel.

Besides, once this is started the right will go after trans people in general. They'll start banning everything for adults too.

Surgery is not, and puberty blockers have been shown to be safe and reversible when used correctly. You're also ignoring that they're trying to outlaw any trans-affirming treatment. This literally includes using the child's chosen pronouns, any psychotherapy (which is generally how psychiatrists determine if a child is experiencing gender dysphoria vs "the parents saw their son play with dolls so they're pressuring him to be trans"), and seeks to prosecute anyone who affirms the child's identity as a child abuser.

I dont agree with banning any trans affirming treatment, and Texas goes too far. But I stand by my position that the trans movement is moving too fast in schools and these laws are a backlash to that. Whats wrong with letting parents teach children about controversial issues like gender themselves? Instead teachers are basically encouraging young children to consider whether their gender doesnt match their body.

With the younger children, starting in pre-K, we talk about their bodies. About the parts that they were born with about penises and vaginas and whether that makes somebody a boy or a girl, a speaker is heard saying in the video.

Another one of the allegedly leaked videos outlines how educators should talk about gender identity for second-grade students.

"Talk about it, again, in terms of your head and your heart and your body parts matching up and does that work for you, the speaker says. The kids draw wonderful self-portraits again, dealing with all aspects of their identity, including specifically their gender identity.

I can't believe a school said it's okay to be different and that everyone is a human being.

Clearly a nefarious political agenda and not the kind of wholesome stuff we always tell children in schools and media.
