Lol, it sounds like you're talking about Undertale.
Either way, I get my Pokemon out of there before I reset the game. Guess the human characters and their Pokemon are out of luck though

I was thinking about Dot Hack of all things lol. Early in the series theres this tl;dr conversation about the nature of resetting a save file and what it means for the world of the game that you deleted. >_>

The forgotten PC box inhabitants.
Those with degrading nicknames including the rival.
The Red Gyarados, Sudowoodo and Snorlax unconditionally defeated or condemned to captivity for the game to progress now given another fleeting chance at freedom.
Known cheater Lance's plans - whatever they are - have seen their progress undone.
As are Team Rocket's.
With each reset game, one helpless master ball victim is freed.
Let them have their youth back.
