I've only played 1 Lego game before that was the 1st Batman game. It was alright but it got repetitive a lot. And all Lego games kinda looked the same to me. But everyone is saying Skywalker is different and really good. Is that true?

It changes several things but ultimately it's the same deal. Beat the missions, collect the collectoids.

If you just mainline the story each episode is probably 2 hours? However that's not what the point of the Lego games are, there's a shit ton of collectibles and upgrades to get. Honestly I find the humor funny but as a Star Wars fan it feels like a nice love letter. If you are expecting Jedi Fallen Order type of storytelling this isn't the game for you.

Focus is a bit more on open-world movement and the missions are shorter.

Combat is improved but ultimately to no real end.

Different classes of characters can be upgraded but ultimately to no real end.

Don't get me wrong. I'm still enjoying the humor and the love and the exploration, but I feel the changes made do enough right and enough wrong for a net zero gain.

The story aspect of the game isn't great, as it feels like it is rushing through everything, sometimes sacrificing key story bits in the process. The real meat of the game is the 30+ hub worlds, and the hundreds of side-missions and collectables. Great for people who love collect-a-thons, but not the best offering from the Lego franchise (Imo, Marvel Superheroes is still at the top)

You should at least give LEGO SW The Complete Saga a whirl first, so you can experience the differences first hand. It still holds up... mostly.

I kinda hope they do the Skywalker Saga treatment for Lord of the Rings and Hobbit. Lego Hobbit never got finished. They released it without the 3rd movie, with a promise it would be DLC but it got canceled. They need to do a remake and add in the last movie
