$10 now for a Subway Club, it wasn't that long ago it was hiked to $9. They're officially off my list.

People who spend 10 bucks on a subway sandwich have got to be some of the worst money management I've ever seen

My sandwich at Subway is super expensive. But thats because I get a:

Spicy Italian, double meat, add double bacon, full serving of every cheese available there (including shredded and that new one), toasted, salt, pepper, oregano, parmesan cheese, & oil

Super tasty, though. My best sub had other stuff added. But I cant do that without working there these days. Haha

John Oliver had a great bit on Subway last night on his show

Subway is a joke tier restaurant. Go to Firehouse or Jersey Mike's. Yes it's more expensive but not by much anymore and you actually get what you pay for.

My family always found stuff like this off-putting too. I always likened it to us growing up poor, but I never really gave a shit about financial principle. Just seems like it would bog down my mental health for no good reason.

I definitely prefer Firehouse, but the closest one is over 40 minutes from where I live. I have a Subway less than 5 minutes away so that's my go to for a sub usually.

But a $10 footlong is a $5 increase. Just a delayed and drawn out one.

That said, I rarely go. Just when Im in the mood for a sub. Most places have limits, from what I remember. Subway does seem to have any. That 20 slices of pepperoni, 20 slices of Salami, 8 strips of bacon, like 20 slices of cheese, plus a bunch of shredded cheese, and that mozzarella cheese Its pretty tasty.

I could never find what I want at Jimmy Johns (plus they only do cold subs) In found like one thing I like at Jersey Mikes, but again, only cold subs (unless they changed recently). And I think both only have one cheese Ive been wanting to try firehouse, but I always forget whenever Im in the area. And its not very close

Certain toppings. But not all meats can be added unless you want to buy 2 sandwiches, but have them made together on one piece of bread. Plus, I use to also add the pizza toppings. Which werent suppose to be used for the subs

It's insane. There's zero reason to go to subway when I can spend a couple bucks more and get a nardelis grinder. It's like mcdonalds started charging 5 guys money for the same shitty burger

People who eat at Subway should have their finances reclaimed by Treasury for money laundering.

Depends on what you want. They all have different menus. And both Jimmy Johns and Jersey Mikes dont have hot subs. And only one cheese. Dont know much about FireHouse as I always forget to go. As for local, none of my local places are cheaper. And based on the other local places Ive gone. I doubt they are much better, if better at all At least in this town

But basically, its comes down to what you want And sometimes, I want a sun. And subway is the only place that gets me the kind that I like

Because you want to "Eat Fresh"

They may not heat up the bread, but they've definitely done hot meat sandwiches for awhile. Like I'll get the Philly from them and they heat up the meat/melt the cheese on it on a flat-top, though the bread isn't toasted.

He actually uses both them as examples of being better than Subway in certain areas too lol. They take less of your franchise profits and Burger King gives more information on how franchises are doing before you buy one. Subway gives you zero information.

There's literally no reason to ever go to Subway.

It rises a little at a time until you don't even realize what happened.

But still... Even a dollar. That's over a 10% increase from 9. And if you go there frequently, it's a dollar for every sandwich you buy. It adds up.

And everything is going up lately. Imagine if every single meal you bought was "just a dollar" cheaper you'd have an extra thousand dollars at least by the end of the year.

So stop going to Subway.
That was easy.

There needs to be more custom, build your own sub shops. FireHouse is good, but I want a sandwich the way I want it made, not the way they make it for me.

Even regular packs have a lot. Like those packs of cheese. I use four of each kind, but they have like 8-10 slices Same with the bags of shredded cheese

the only situation i can imagine myself eating from Subway is if i dont have any other better option around and im really REALLY hungry. lol

Even if you waste some of the food at the grocery store, it will still be cheaper than going to subway. You just have to accept that you'll be paying a premium to have someone make your sandwiches. If it's getting too much, you might have to bite the bullet and make your sandwich

I just chose the italian sandwiches because everyone has those. cause it's just lunchmeats, however the quality of lunchmeat is a thing (like Nardelis steak and cheese grinder is a different animal than subway's), also the bread quality is a huge consideration. They get daily deliveries from NYC bakeries for their rolls which is just a first class ticket to flavortown

EDIT: For example this is a 6in steak and cheese I had from them a few weeks ago. They load up so much meat that it falls out the bun

I've never gotten a sandwich at home to taste like a sub place. I'm done buying Subway but not going to pretend I can make the same tasting stuff at home either.
