I work in 911. tbf I chose to do this cuz I'm needed and I'm getting some great OT >_> I could've said no with zero consequences lol, but i have some specialty skills that they are really deprived of at the moment too. I would feel kinda bad leaving them to scramble to look for someone qualified, or straight up fill the spot with someone who isn't qualified and just have them wing it lol, which they sometimes do

err.... both? You don't need a degree, but you had to have prior schooling in EMS to get on and you have to go through an academy too. And if you want to promote to Lieutenant or higher, you have to have a college degree.

Yeah. But it's entirely possible I don't. Hasn't happened yet but shortly before I hired on workers where forced to stay and work a 72 hour work day (they let them sleep but they still got paid) because of a hurricane.

I don't see why that matters though working 12.25 with all the overtime I work sucks. You get one day off at a time and I spend half that sleeping and another few hours preparing for my next set of days.

It's literally a running joke here we are family cause we are around each other more than our real families. And thank God most of us do have a family mentality where even if we don't get along on a personal level we still look out for each other. Example being someone doesn't have thebmoney for food (we order out everynight) it's almost a gurantee someone will cover you. And we often take blame for others fuck ups cause we don't like throwing each other under the bus

Finally home! Time to take a nice dump and get ready for Xbox! Then pass the fuck out afterwards >_>

Can jump to double depending on how many hours you work in a single day.

I had a job that had an 8-hour day-rate, then time and a half after 10, and double after 16. Plus there were meal penalties on top of that.

Not in this economy and I think he lives in New York. That being said I make like 32 and also get hella OT. I shouldnt have to work as hard as I am currently and not pull 6 figures tbh. Ive been averaging 50 or so hours a week for over 2 years now.

We get time and a half for overtime plus another time and a half if it's a federal holiday.

Our overtime doesn't work on a daily basis though. It's how many hours you are currently sitting at for the month. So we get paid Hella goof for some holidays.
